Cookbook
For years now, we've been threatening to put together a cookbook that focuses on the vegetables we grow. We have finally pulled it together for our CSA mambers. The recipes in our cookbook are some of our favorites, some that have been provided by our members over the years, and some from the chefs at the restaurants we sell to.
How You Get The Cookbook
Starting in June 2010 every member receives a small 3-ring binder containing the best recipes we have accumulated over the years. The summer members will get the binder in June. The winter members will get the binder in November. After that, new CSA members will get a new up-to-date binder, and existing members will get a package of new recipes to add to their binder at the beginning of each season. Some of our members split a share. We will provide 1 cookbook per share, and can provide an additional book for $15 to cover the cost of the binders, printing, and assembly. Our intent is for the cookbook to be a member benefit so we are not planning to sell the cookbook at this time.
Experiment and Submit Your Recipes
These recipes are the ones people like. Remember our mission statement is "To delight the palate." The better tasting the food the more fun this is for everyone. So please, be creative and submit the recipes that you like the best.
CSA email Updates
Our current members know that we send an email prior to each pickup. These emails contain recipes for the vegetables in season in addition to farm updates. We will continue to include recipes in these emails. We will also include recipes in the future cookbook updates that were not in the emails. The weekly emails tend to be limited by time, the cookbook updates will not be so constrained.
